This item was previously owned by someone who made regular trips for religious travels. This is a 2.5" x 1.5" Orthodox (Greek/Russian?) style icon, most likely a repro of a larger work sold for the tourist trade. There is a handwritten note on the back dating it to 1961, and an additional word that I can't read - I assume this is the place where it was purchased. I am not sure if this is a painting of Mary or another female saint.
