This tiny, dainty ceramic basket was made in Occupied Japan per the mark on the bottom. It stands no more than 2" high & 3" long, and is definitely more decorative than practical. Miniature figurines were very popular during this period, and this was most likely part of a larger collection of knick-knacks. It has minimal paint loss, no chips or cracks, and the floral design on the side is complete with no missing pieces.
The "Occupied Japan" mark was used between 1945 - 1952.
